Rediscover Tyrell

U-he updated the legendary Synth “Tyrell N6” to make it run on modern systems. It’s VST3/64bit now and goes much easier on the CPU. Actually, the performance issues were the reason i stopped using Tyrell many years ago.

But now it’s the right moment to rediscover this great instrument.

In my video i focus on explaining the signal flow and – sometimes confusing – terminology. Once you understand that “VCA, ADSR, Env1” or “OSC 1, Shape 1, Source 1” are referring to the same thing it’s getting much easier 🙂

Some (kind of hidden) Key-Features i’m talking about are:

  • The 8-Voice Polyphony and how it works
  • Overdriving the oscillator
  • Filter Feedback
  • The Matrix with drag and drop functionality
Fun Fact:

According to my viewer Spirit-Groove “N6” stands for Nexus 6.

Tyrell Nexus 6 is the generation of Replicant in BladeRunner before Rachel, who is an advanced prototype Nexus 7.

That’s a nice reference, i dig that.

You can download Tyrell N6 on the u-he website for free.

Thanks to u-he for making this possible.
